SANCTUARY

It has been

Sanctuary

the place I kept away from others

Exiled always to this desk

when my presence was too much

Where I wax poetic

show off sights

no one knows about

A voyeur I am

to  lives Unknown

to shame and joy Undiscovered

succombing slipping

Calling out

the drownings

left some convinced

I was nuts

Humility forced upon

Egotists

by a woman

willing to sacrifice

companionship

for the Higher Ground

This place

is all I wanted once

and all I can handle

of Life

now
