ONE LAST CHRISTMAS

I know now

we share one last Christmas

your dark hair flecked

with gray now

Your shadowy chest rises and falls

God only knows how many more times

in the light

warmed beside

the fireplace protection

within this stalwart shelter

Gentle you sweet

are to me Past and Present

I hold these last moments

Sacred

Your presence is sufficient

for me to be honored by

your Goodbye Season

as Winter grows still

Illuminates the Lone

Hope standing Eternal

for purity, for innocence

the World dismisses as Antiquated

but I hold

Epic Ever
