THE OTHER HALF OF STUBBORN

I know now
the Other Half
of Stubborn
Dark to my Childish
Push too Far
blushing blasphemous taunting
Cruel to my Sarcastic
Sinuous Wiry Strong
in contrast
to my
Overpadded Buried Self

If by chance
or Mercury in Retrograde
We were to Stop
Halt Caustic
Barbed Wire Fence maintenance
Insist
Discover covet
Breath, Sustenance
Overcome oceans
syllables country borders

I’m sure
Hell itself would fall Silent
Submit to Redemptive
Whispers
Feather touches
Powerful more
our Communion would be
Than any Argument
Scowl or Thunder
Us Mere Helpless
Unable to resist any longer
