DIRTY LITTLE HEART

It’s simply
Not
about Right
anymore
Scars get soft
We grow up
Late
or die Obnoxious

Beauty costs
Too tender
We’re mere rocks
tumbling in the stream
(We get bumped a lot)
Open spaces scare us
We want to dance
but with someone near us
Praying we
as Clueless Klutzes
remain forever Undiscovered

Ordinary
Bliss is a wish
we’re so close to
but can’t fathom
(No way-
-we’re too Ugly-Dumb-)
Happy Placid
can’t be for us

I color outside
the lines now
Invite others
Scribble brilliant
when they don’t come
At a distance
they call me “Courageous”
Admirous of my junk

“Poetry IS Foreplay, Darling
Dinner’s on
(Put the wordplay down)”
Time to run
Wonder’s awful
Where’s my house?
Pick up rinse off
my dirty little heart
